Services Australia is on the move in Colac with the service centre relocating from its current site in Bromfield Street, to newly refurbished premises at 13 Connor Street from Monday 1 August 2022.
Minister for Government Services Bill Shorten said bringing both services under one roof would make it easier for Colac residents to access Government support.
“Colac residents will have a one stop destination if they need to access government services,” Minister Shorten said.
“It’s bringing all the staff and all the services together so Colac residents can have a seamless experience when they visit.”
The Connor Street site was previously occupied by the National Disability Insurance Agency, but the two agencies will now share the new-look site.
“The new service centre will offer a contemporary layout and upgraded facilities to make it easier for customers to access the support they need,” Minister Shorten said.
“Importantly, the Colac team are interested in hearing customers’ feedback about the new service experience available at the centre.”
People can continue to book Centrelink appointments if they’d like certainty around the time they can speak with a staff member face-to-face or over the phone.
“Services Australia is also offering digital coaching appointments for people who would like extra support to use Service Australia’s digital services,” Minister Shorten said.
To make an appointment customers can visit the centre or call their regular payment line.
The Colac Service Centre at 13 Connor Street will be open Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
